A Glimpse into Our Journey
Since 2013, I've been teaching in a special education classroom, sparking my passion for working with young people. I began by teaching math to middle schoolers, realizing the importance of making it practical and relatable. To engage my students, I had to think creatively. As I bridged academic gaps, I moved on to high school, reuniting with my former students. Witnessing their growth into adulthood solidified my dedication to this work. While it's challenging to support "at risk" youth, I strived to be more innovative and committed. Through initiatives like the Corner Store Project and Independent Living Program, I extended my impact beyond the classroom walls. Seeking opportunities to assist students and communities, I have facilitated genuine connections between educators and young people. Establishing systems and processes focused on building enduring relationships with students and their families has been my priority.
